The Back Forty Folk Festival is hosting a Songwriters
Workshop & Coffeehouse Saturday, February 20th at Timbers at
Minnewasta Golf and Country Club, featuring Winnipeg songwriter
Keri Latimer.
Keri Latimer is one of the four members of the Winnipeg folk rock
band “Nathan” Known for their haunting harmonies and
beautifully written songs that really harness the essence of the
prairies. Keri received first place in Manitoba for the National
Songwriting Competition before sweeping to success with Nathan’s
remarkable album Jimson Weed. Since 2004 they have won 6 Canadian
music awards including Roots and Traditional Album of the year at
the 2008 Junos. Latimer, is a mother, a songwriter, a singer, a
guitarist and can even play the theremin. To read some of her lyrics

This Songwriters Workshop has 12 spots available, and is open to
all ages. It doesn’t matter whether you have written a dozen
songs, or not even started your first. You will work on strategies,
mechanics, and even that unfinished piece with a seasoned songwriter
from 10 - 3 with lunch included for only $20.
Workshop participants, and local seasoned song writers will be featured
along with Keri Latimer at a coffeehouse in Timbers at Minnewasta
Golf and Country Club, beginning at 7pm. Tickets will be sold at
the door for $10 with kids 12 and under free.

The Back 40 Festival is Farming
out a Poster Design Opportunity!
The Back 40 Folk Festival is giving one lucky high
school student a chance to see their poster design all over Southern
Manitoba!!
The poster will be advertising the upcoming Songwriter Workshop
and Coffeehouse featuring Winnipeg performing artist Keri Latimer.
Information you need to include:
-Back 40 Festival Presents Songwriters Workshop & Coffeehouse
-February 20, 2010 at Minnewasta Golf and Country Club
-Featuring Winnipeg Songwriter Keri Latimer from the folk rock group
Nathan!
-Workshop: Only 12 spots available, runs 10am - 3pm, $20 including
lunch.
-Coffeeshop: 7pm - 10pm open to anyone who would like to come watch
a night of warm music featuring Keri Latimer
-Tickets at the door for $10, 12 and under free

-The poster must also include our logo and your signature in some
way shape or form.
If your poster design is selected you will be awarded
with 2 tickets to the upcoming coffeehouse along with 2 passes to
the Back 40 Festival on June 6th in the Morden Park Bowl!

The
Back Forty Booth is in the large tent located at
Center of Park Bowl. The Booth is used for coverage in case of rain
(Heaven Forbid!).
It's
also the information area for CD
sales, Raffle
sales, and Lost & Found. First
Aid is provided by our Morden Fire Department
Volunteers.
