BACK FORTY
FESTIVAL
EXPANDS
TO TWO DAYS!

May 31st & Sunday June 1st, 2008
The
Back Forty Music Festival in association with Chautauqua Spirit
and Cultural Capitals of Canada, is pleased to present an expanded
multicultural program for 2008. This year the festival takes
place Saturday May 31 and June 1 from noon till dusk in beautiful
Morden Park, located an hour and a half from downtown Winnipeg
on Highway #3. It's two days of great folk, roots, country,
blues, and bluegrass music by local and international artists,
plus activities for the little ones, craft market, food and
fun for the whole family!

MCKENNITT COMPOSITION COMPETITION UPDATE
Twelve
promising songwriters submitted their works, and the adjudication
process (see link) is well under way. Back Forty wishes to thank
all the talented participants who entered their songs. Two winners
will be contacted by telephone in the coming week. All entrants
will receive a copy of the judges' remarks plus tickets to the
2008 Back Forty Festival by mail. Thanks again to all those
who participated in the song-writing stream of the Loreena McKennitt
Composition Competition.

The
Back Forty Booth is in the large tent located at
Center of Park Bowl. The Booth is used for coverage in case of rain
(Heaven Forbid!).
It's
also the information area for CD
sales, Raffle
sales, and Lost & Found. First
Aid is provided by our Morden Fire Department
Volunteers.
